Objectives of the Certificate Course

  1. Develop understanding of Disability laws and its relevant concepts.
  2. Gain understanding on working on the rights-based needs of people with disabilities in an inclusive society.
  3. Learn about the intervention framework, research and writing and advocacy mechanisms.

Who Can Participate?

Students/ Research Scholars pursuing their Under Graduate or Post GraduateCourses from any University/ College in India.

What will be your deliverables?

  1. Attendance requirement is 75% for the entire course.
  2. Attendance will only be marked based on registered email ID.
  3. All participants will be expected to complete activity assignments during the course duration – The assignments may involve a MCQ quizzes and research work.
  4. Only participants who meet the required attendance criteria and appear for all weekly test will be eligible to sit in the final exam post the completion of course.
  5. The certificates of completion of course will be issued to only those who have cleared the final exam.

Course Details

This two-credit course is spread over a period of 9 weeks with 3 classes every week. The Course is designed in such a way that students can conveniently accommodate it with their regular classes.   1. Date: 16th February, 2022 to 08th April, 2022 (3 times a week)
  2. Timing: 4:30PM to 6:00 PM

  • The registration fee is Rs.521/- (for participants without disabilities) and Rs. 321/- (for participants with disabilities and members of CDRT). This is to be paid via NEFT/IMPS/UPI to the following account:

  • Last Date of Registration is 10th February, 2022.
  • Other information will be conveyed to the registered candidates via email.

About Centre for Disability Research & Training (CDRT)

The Centre for Disability Research and Training (CDRT), Kirori Mal College was established in June 2021 with the prime objectives of fostering an inclusive and accommodative environment in the society, and promoting disability studies as a legitimate field of academic inquiry within India. The aim of the centre is to actualize the goal of empowerment of people with disabilities by evolving a discourse on disability that would challenge the stereotypes and prejudices against disabled people and foster their socio-cultural, economic and political inclusion. The centre organizes sensitizing campaigns, workshops, lectures, talks and conferences. It also conducts introductory certificate courses in disability studies.
